Here, we will look at instructions for how to brew White tea. As always the first thing that you need to remember when brewing tea is that you will need to fill the kettle with fresh cold water. And of course as with all teas, spring water or another good quality water is the best for brewing tea.

  1. Step 1

Allow the water to reach a boiling point for one minute before taking it off the fire. Let it cool slightly. When making white tea you should not brew tea in boiling water.

  2. Step 2

While the water is cooling slightly put some white tea leaves into the tea pot. It has been recommended that you use one teaspoon of white tea per cup, or one tablespoon for a pot of about one quart or one liter. You must remember that good quality white teas are expensive; therefore you might want to start with this amount and see how your tea tastes before trying to add any more.

  3. Step 3

Once you have your tea leaves and slightly cooled boiled water ready, you are ready to begin the process of brewing tea. You can now pour the water over the tea leaves and leave it to steep. Normal steeping times for a subtle delicate white tea are between 1 $#45; 3 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Remember that the longer you brew tea the deeper the golden color of the infusion you will get. At this point you should taste the brewing tea to see if you like the taste. You can then decide if you need to add more tea leaves or whether you need more steeping time.

  5. Step 5

After the tea has been fully prepared you will need to strain the tea leaves out of the tea pot. The resulting infusion can then be poured into the pre-warmed tea cups ready for your enjoyment.

Silver Tips

  • How long do you brew White tea? This is where you can get conflicting steeping times depending on whom you ask. Some people will tell you that you should leave the tea to steep for 30 to 40 seconds. Others will say that 15 minutes will bring you the perfect tasting cup of white tea. Still others will inform you that white tea needs to steep for about 4 to 8 minutes. Your best bet is to take things gradually a step at a time and work your way upwards from about 40 seconds of brewing time until you gradually get to the perfect cup of White tea.
